28-09-2011 Server Maintenance

The server will undergo an extensive maintenance. We are going to upgrade the operating system from server 2003 to server 2008.
Expected downtime : 1-3 hours

I think we are ready to go , please note that this maintenance main focus was optimizations for less lag. We are still trying to debug the crashing issues that we had in the last days. Lets see if the Operating System change does any help.

Update:
I have watched the real-time logs when the crash happens ..... and i could only see one pattern for each crash. Every time the server crashed on the last logs i can see duyvip account.
This doesn't mean he did something on purpose , as i do remember some weeks ago the server started to crash when i logged in as GM/IncubuS, didn't crash when i logged with normal account. I didn't know what is wrong ... so i moved my character on another account and there was no more crashes .... For all this being said ... i'm going to test a theory and ban duyvip account in order to verify/confirm/infirm this.

Duyvip , i will contact you as soon as possible , this is just a test that we need to carry. In the meantime please contact me with a PM on the forum by giving me as much details possible of your account.

Update: I can confirm my above theory . I have logged into duyvip character and exactly when i do that the server crashes. I'm conducting tests now to determine why is this happening from he's character.

Update: i have identified the bug from duyvip character and managed to solve it , now we know why the server was crashing. It was caused by some old expired seals.

Update: I have closed down the in-game MU-SHOP (W Coins shop) , so that nobody can buy new seals.
I must now wait for all purchased seals to expire so i can recreate the w coins shop with all the fix. If i will do this now that means i will remove everyone's seal and i don't think someone would like that.

The shop will be reopened as soon as everyone's seals will expire so i can apply the fix. After all this there should be no more crashes.

UPDATE:

As a compensation for all the crashes in the past days everyone received the following bonuses:

+500 W Coins
+1500 PCPoints
+200M Zen
+ 24 Hours of Gold VIP (previous vip stats were removed , therefor everyone has exactly 24 hours now)

As you all might already noticed , the server-side crashing issues has been solved. However we are investigating the client-side problems ( disconnects after chatting were reported ). Be believe this could be a protocol bug , and conducting tests. We are committed to fix all the bugs , we just need time to conduct all sorts of investigation to determine the root cause of this issues. Rest assure that we are doing our best to fix everything and that we are aware of all the reports.
